We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday…we sure did.
Before we go too much further in our new venture, it would be remiss on our part if we didn’t thank Gwen and Fay of the Sutter Sitters for helping us with some great ideas and and information about how to go about providing great home care service. The Sutter Sitters take care of homes in Mesquite, Nevada…and by all accounts do a wonderful job.
So, props to Gwen and Fay…Thank You!

We received about 4 inches of snow overnight…the first of the season, at least here in town.

It’s important to understand that we are not a property management company. Rather, we are a vacation management company. Unlike many property managers, we focus on the entire guest experience, not just the physical home or condo. While our properties play a vital role in the delivery of a first class experience, they are only part of the overall program. If you think about it in terms of a hotel experience (as we do), it’s the interaction with staff and the hospitality you receive (or don’t) that makes a vacation memorable. And, this is precisely where we saw an opportunity…no, a giant gap, to deliver a superior vacation experience by focusing on the people, not just the properties.

Our mission is to create value for property owners by providing extraordinary experiences for them and their guests. And, we believe the way to do that most effectively is to try something different. Let me explain…
The only way to significantly increase the value of something you sell is to be different, and perhaps more importantly, to be the best. That being said, we don’t think being a better “property management company” will achieve the results we’re all looking for. Doing the same thing just a little better with more efficient procedures, better invoicing, nicer looking reports, and a better looking office counter is not the answer…service and caring is.
If you just want someone to simply collect the rent and schedule a maintenance person on occasion without a lot of concern for detail…you can almost certainly get that for less, and we’re probably not for you. On the other hand, if you believe as we do that most people want something more than “just good enough” and that they’ll pay a little extra for it…you should call us. We probably have a lot in common.
You and your guests don’t want improved property management. You want to feel like someone cares about you, and that you’re getting the attention you deserve. And, you want results. Well, for the past 25 years, that’s exactly what we’ve done…improved occupancy and rate by focusing on the people part of the equation, the service and caring…the art of hospitality.
So, that’s our goal…provide something different than any other property management company in town, deliver superior results…and in the process, make a lot of people happy.

Twas the night before opening, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring…except for Michael putting on some finishing touches here and there.
Tomorrow is an exciting day for us…almost like birthing a child (I’m sure Nancy would disagree).

Only about 24 more hours before we let the doors fly open (there aren’t really any doors, I just felt like saying that)…and so many details yet to complete, like this website.
At about 1 am this morning I wasn’t sure which is more challenging…opening a hotel, or a service company.
